Civivi Baby Banter Pocket Knife

I don’t have a lot of folding knives and my goal right now isn’t to build a huge collection. I tend to shop for EDC gear on the more practical side so I’m selective about what I want to get.

I had seen people talk a lot of great things about the Civivi Banter pocket knife collection (designed by Ben Petersen of Knafs). However, I already had a pocket knife that was kind of a similar size and shape to some of those so I didn’t want to just buy the same thing again.

Then I saw the Civivi Baby Banter collection! Similar shapes but smaller knives. I thought it would be nice to add a knife to my collection that was smaller. It fits easier in the pocket, can be less intimidating to some people due to the smaller overall size, and legal to carry it in more places due to smaller blade size (check your local laws).

I went with the one with the Wharncliffe blade and burlap textured micarta handles. The shape of the blade is great because it’s very much like a utility blade (think straight draw cutting) which is super useful for so many tasks. Great for opening boxes, letters, and more. I mean… Let’s all be honest… What do we use our knives for 99% of the time? Opening boxes! The handle has a nice texture and even with the smaller size you can still get a good grip on it due to the generous finger choil size and jimping on the spine of the blade for your thumb.

It has a nice and strong deep carry pocket clip which has recessed screws and is reversible so it’s also left-handed friendly! And the titanium thumb stud is accessible from both sides of the knife so good for right-handed people, left-handed people, and flipping open from either side. (I can’t do a reverse flick to save my life! But it’s an option.)

It's small enough to be an easy carry in the fifth pocket of jeans or pretty much any other pocket. The length when closed is 3.13 inches long, 5.45 inches long when open, and the blade is just 2.4 inches long. And at only two ounces you’ll hardly notice it in your pocket, bag, pouch, or wherever you choose to carry it.

I have really enjoyed this knife so far and I would highly recommend it! I could even see myself adding another style to my collection at some point. I really think it’s a great piece of EDC gear!
