Rite in the Rain gear that I love

Rite in the Rain Index Card Wallet, On-The-Go-Notebooks, and All-Weather Pocket Pen

Rite in the Rain makes great notebooks, pens, and other related gear. Many people in the EDC community love and stand by their products! Additionally, their products are very popular with people that spend a lot of time outdoors working, camping, hiking, etc… Not only because their products are sturdy but are also generally waterproof (or at least super water resistant) as well! And I don’t just mean the pens and gear that are waterproof/water resistant... I also mean the paper!

I originally was just going to carry some kind of standard small notebook with me for my EDC. My issue with notebooks is that a lot of times my notes are random, sometimes I want to reorder them, and sometimes I want to remove them. So, for me a regular pocket-sized notebook isn’t always what I’m looking for when it comes to random day-to-day notes. But just carrying sheets of paper isn’t always so convenient either.

That’s when I discovered the Rite in the Rain Index Card Wallet! It comes with some of their branded cards to start you out but in general will hold any 3x5 inch cards or paper. I did some searching online and in addition to having some of the Rite in the Rain cards in mine I also found lined cards, grid lined cards, to-do list cards, and just some blank notepad paper. I found blank 3x5 notepads and just ripped off a few sheets to include in my stash for when you just need a quick sheet of paper and not an index card. With this method of carrying cards and paper you can reorder them, remove them, give them to other people to use, etc… I love being able to have different types of card and paper styles in one place.

On the outside, there’s a spot to hold a few cards in some elastic straps so that you can have something always ready to go for writing on. Also, along the spine of the wallet there’s an elastic loop for holding a pen. And the wallet’s closure is a nice sturdy hook and loop that keeps everything together securely.

I also discovered these mini Rite in the Rain On-The-Go Notebooks that are super convenient to have around. The pages of the notebook are about 2x3 inches, and the sheets are perforated so they are easy to remove. These little notebooks are perfect for fitting in your pocket, wallet, or other small spaces.

As I was taking the photos for this blog post I also discovered that these little notebooks fit in the Rite in the Rain Index Card Wallet! So now I’m stashing a couple of them in there as well. Such a perfect fit!

For a pen I’ve been carrying the Rite in the Rain All-Weather Pocket Pen. When this pen is closed it is only 3 ¼ inches long so with that nice compact size it fits well in pockets, pouches, and other places. I love that when you take the cap off and lock it onto the back that you then basically have a regular sized pen to write with. And since it’s not a click pen you don’t have to worry about the pen tip getting deployed in your pocket or bag and accidentally marking up a surface. In addition to their ink working well in various weather environments the pen can also write at any angle. This feature is especially great when trying to write notes on the go when you aren’t sitting at a table or desk.

For now, this is all the Rite in the Rain gear that I have tried. But I look forward to trying more of their products in the future. These items that I’ve tried so far have worked out well for me and are quality products. Check them out!
