Carry multiple pen colors and a pencil in one

In my previous blog post I wrote about a keychain friendly telescoping pen that’s super handy to have with you on the go. That pen is great for making quick notes and lists but not something you’re going to want to spend a lot of time writing with.
If you’re someone that tends to do a lot of writing on the go, then you’re probably going to want to have a full-sized pen with you. And if you like to sketch, brainstorm stuff, or annotate your documents/notes then you probably would benefit from having multiple colors of ink with you. And then I know there’s those of you out there that like having a pencil for certain things. But at this point now you’re talking at least three writing instruments to carry… Two pens (maybe black and red) and a pencil!
Do you remember those pens you probably had back when you were in school? The Bic pens that had four pens built into one? A bit bigger than your average pen of course but then you’ve got multiple ink colors built into one pen! But that doesn’t solve all your problems… Right? You’ve still got to carry that and a pencil. Up until a few months ago I had no idea this existed, but Bic has a pen and pencil combination version!
Check out the four in one that’s three ink colors and a mechanical pencil built into one pen body! You get black, blue, and red ink built in! On the pens I had as a kid they also had green but, in this version, they have replaced that fourth ink color with a mechanical pencil. In addition, they have built an eraser slot into the back of the pen. So, everything is built into one pen body.
You can get them in a single pack, three pack, and 12 pack from what I could find. The pens are 1.0mm and the pencils are #2 HB lead at 0.7mm. The one that I bought was a single pack version and it comes with 12 lead refills and five eraser refills on top of what’s preloaded in the pen. You can also buy ink refills separately. The three pack appears to come with the same number of lead and eraser refills to be shared among the three pens. I am unsure what kinds of refills come in the 12 pack.
