Keychain friendly mini pen
There are so many pen options out there for EDC! I mean… Basically any pen can be an EDC pen if you think about it. Lots of people just carry whatever their favorite pen is from home or the office. (Not that I’m suggesting you’re stealing office supplies. Geez!) Some people like to get more compact pens that they can put in a pocket or pouch. Ask ten people what their favorite pen is, and you might get ten different answers. I’m sure it’s a hot topic for many. Especially pen collectors!
The pen you choose to carry will likely also vary depending on how much you plan to use it when you are out and about. If you do a lot of writing on the go, then you will probably want to invest in a nicer and more full-sized pen. If you get something too thin or small, it won’t be comfortable for writing a lot.
But if you’re in the market for a very compact pen you might want to check out the True Stainless Steel TelePen Keychain! This is a keychain friendly pen that is collapsible. So, when it’s time to write you can extend it out for more comfort. I don’t think you’re going to want to write your next novel with this but to make quick notes, sign a receipt, work on a shopping list, etc… This might be your pen!
It's just under 2.5 inches long when collapsed (not including the keyring) and about 4.5 inches long when extended (with the cap off). When it’s collapsed with the cap on, and keyring attached it’s about 3.25 inches. You can easily remove the ring if you don’t want it on your keychain. But I find that the ring makes it easier to grab, gives you an attachment point, and makes taking the cap on and off easier. You could also attach this to something besides your keys using the ring if desired.
Watch out when buying these because the prices can really vary, and they are sometimes sold out. The best prices I’ve seen are usually about $9-$10. The pen comes with an ink cartridge loaded in it and three additional refills. Obviously given this pen’s length when collapsed you don’t get a lot of ink in there so it’s nice that they include three refills on top of the ink pre-loaded in the pen.
