Tired of your keys being a mess? Check out the Ridge Keycase!

Ridge Keycase

There are pretty much limitless ways to carry your keys around and I never used to give much thought to how I carried mine. They went on a ring with a couple of fun keychains and maybe some kind of clip or carabiner. And now that newer cars have mostly turned to keyless fobs, I find myself carrying fewer keys than ever. I’m not ready to update to a keyless entry system for my house just yet so for now there will at least be a few keys needed in my life. But I thought it would be nice to have a better way to carry them so that they weren’t so noisy and bulky in my pocket.

There are so many key management systems and organizers out there that it’s difficult to know where to start. I first tried the KeySmart Original (with expansion screws). At the time I had a few more keys than I do now and liked the idea of having my personal keys on one side and work keys on the other since this style of organizer has you put keys at each end. The one that I ordered came with some expansion screws so that it could hold up to 14 keys. The KeySmart was constructed well and got the job done. My only complaint was that it seemed like when you would swivel keys in and out to use them then the screws at each end of the KeySmart would start to loosen up with use. I kept finding myself tightening them with my thumbnail or a coin while on the go out of fear of them coming too loose. The only problem with that was once tightened more the keys were difficult to swivel in and out for use. I never actually had anything come apart, but it was something I started to worry about.

Enter the Ridge Keycase! I came across the Ridge line of products while looking up their pens after reading about those in an article online. They looked really cool and so I clicked through to see what other kinds of products they had. The Ridge Keycase (Carbon Fiber 3k) is for 2-6 keys and at this point I was down to three keys, so it was just the right size for me with room to expand a bit if needed.

Once you put the keys into the Ridge Keycase and tighten the holding screw, they are nice and secure. Nothing will accidentally loosen up during use until you intentionally open it up with that holding screw. The keys swivel in and out very easily and smoothly for use but don’t swivel out of the holder unintentionally. The notch on the side lets you bump the keys out quickly so that you can even operate everything one handed which is super useful if you’re carrying things when you’re trying to lock or unlock a door. There’s a built-in ring on one end and a clip on the back so that you have multiple options for how you want to carry this and ways to attach a key fob or keychain if desired. The Keycase is very lightweight yet feels nice and sturdy at the same time.

At the time of this blog post the Ridge Keycase ranges in price from $75 to $125 depending on the color and/or material that it’s made from. There are certainly many cheaper options out there, but I have no regrets so far on this purchase and would happily recommend this product to anyone looking for a key organizer for 2-6 keys. I expect to be using this for years to come!
